Noel and Paul had a beautiful Livermore wedding at Wente Vineyards . They are both originally from the Bay Area, so despite the fact that they now live in Texas, they knew they would have their wedding in California. Noel actually booked the venue sight-unseen. After seeing a few photos of the venue online, she sent her mom and maid of honor to take a look. They were able to confirm it was a place she would love, and she booked it based on their direction.
After a marathon dress search that covered 2 states, 14 bridals stores, and over 50 dresses, Noel finally found THE dress at Winnie Couture. The unique thing about this designer is that she allows you to completely customize your dress and make whatever changes you want to the design in order to make it the dress of your dreams.
Included in the custom changes Noel made to the dress were dropping the waistline 5 inches (taking the dress from a classic ballgown to more of a mermaid silhouette), adding a sweetheart neckline, removing the boning from the bodice, adding large pleats to the front of the skirt and adding beading to the back of the train.
Designing her own dress was one of Noel’s most special experiences of the wedding planning process. It was so much fun to see the image she had in her head come to life. While designing your own dress may not be the answer for most brides, it definitely was the best route for her. To know that no one else will ever have her dress is even more special and makes her love it even more!
Paul worked with a private jeweler to purchase all of our rings. Before they got engaged, Noel gave Paul a “ring guide” that includes descriptions of style she liked with a few images. The main thing she wanted was a halo style, and that’s what she got!
Because they we were having a formal evening wedding, Noel knew their invitations should have a formal feel. She did extensive research and found a stationery designer based out of Minneapolis, Champagne Press. She worked with them to custom design their simple, yet elegant invites that incorporated their ivory/silver/blush palette. Noel also worked with them for the rest of the paper goods – menus, table numbers, signage, etc.
Noel went with ivory satin Badgley Mischka heels with a large crystal design on the front. She knew she wanted to be comfortable, so she kept the heel height pretty moderate at 3.5 inches instead of the tall heels she normally wears. The shoes matched the color of her dress perfectly.
All of the florals were done by a close family friend. Noel’s bouquet included a special touch as she added a brooch passed down from her great-grandmother.
Paul’s Movado watch is a wedding present from Noel!
As guests arrived before the ceremony and during cocktail hour, Noel and Paul hired a Mariachi band to entertain their guests. This was also their ode to Paul’s Mexican heritage. Mariachi Azteca did a great job and all of the guests enjoyed them.
The bridesmaids wore blush mermaid style satin gowns from Morilee. Their dresses had a similar silhouette to Noel’s wedding gown, but the neckline contrasted with hers.
Given the formal feel of their wedding, Paul and his groomsmen wore classic Calvin Klein Black Shawl Lapel tuxedos. Paul’s bow-tie and pocket square were custom-made by Franco Uomo. They wanted something that set him apart from his wedding party, but was still classic. The bow-tie was made of a combination of black and gunmetal gray paisley print satin fabric. His pocket square was the same fabric. Paul’s patent loafers were from Hugo Boss.
We went for a “rustic glam” theme. Noel is definitely more on the glamorous side and she knew that their guests would expect their wedding to reflect that. However, given the more rustic feel of a vineyard location, she had to pull in some of those elements as well. So Noel tried to incorporate both of those elemens – i.e sparkling chandelier (glam), vineyard chairs (rustic).
Cake was done by bakery at Wente Vineyards. They did two flavors for their 4-tier cake – vanilla with buttercream frosting (for Noel) and Devil’s Food with Chocolate Mousse (for Paul).
Noel’s reception dress was a strapless structured crepe gown with a mermaid silhouette by Jill Stuart. Carrying a big satin dress around all night was exhausting, so having a second dress that she could easily move around in was so important.
